Special Itinerary For Luffs!

The last 2 days were spent celebrating Luffs' birthday.

08.02.10 (Monday)

I have ordered Rare Cheese Mango (cake) from Pâtisserie Glacé to be delivered to Luffs' office.

Pâtisserie Glacé
12 Gopeng Street #01-33/34
Icon Village
Tel: 6400 0247

http://cakeglace.com/

Pâtisserie Glacé is helmed by Master Chef Yamashita who hails from Nara, Japan. He has over 20 years of baking experience and has worked for famous confectionery shops like Konditorei Mozart in Okayama.

Here's how the cake looks like!

(Luffs took it with his iPhone)

Two layer of mango cheese mousse with two layer of sponge!

Lucky Luffs! His colleagues bought him a mango cake too, so he had 2 cakes in a day. :)

Luffs decided to treat our families to dinner, so we chose Kam Jia Zhuang Seafood since Mummy Tan said the food is good.

Kam Jia Zhuang Seafood
Blk 202 #01-1690
Ang Mo Kio Ave 3
Tel: 9151 6798

2-Page Menu

Claypot Curry Fish Head ($18)

Deep Fried Prawn Ball With Pumpkin & Butter Sauce ($22)

The prawns were fresh and succulent!

Prawn Paste Chicken ($12)

I have tried better ones elsewhere. This tasted like normal fried chicken!

Dong Po Pork Belly ($12)

I only took the lean meat but this dish is a must try.

Scramble Egg With Assorted Meat ($5)

Beancurd With Conpoy & Golden Mushroom ($12)

There is obviously no ambience to talk about since this is a zi char stall in a coffeeshop but the prices are pretty reasonable.

07.02.10 (Sunday)

Other than just having a party or dinner celebration, I decided to plan a more “adventurous” birthday for my beloved birthday boy!

Anyway, our day started out very early at 6.30am because we headed to JB with my parents to collect our pre-ordered 肉干. Although this was not in my special itinerary for Luffs, I was glad that we made it back to Singapore in time for his surprises!

SURPRISE #1
Time Checked
: 1345 hours
Venue: Spa Elements @ The Cathay
For: Jacuzzi & Massage

Since Luffs was the one driving, I had to tell him where we were heading to. I showed him the itinerary and he got all excited about our first stop - The Cathay! Because I have made reservation for us to enjoy a couple spa (jacuzzi and massage to be exact).

That's us waiting to go into the spa pool / jacuzzi.

Our private heated spa pool!

I totally love the setting of the room! The pool has over 44 jacuzzi jets to massage and rejuvenate our bodies, and the warm lighting and soothing music created an ideal ambience for relaxation! There was also a jug of refreshing Ribena at the side of the pool so that we can sip the icy cold drink in the warm water. Shiokness to the max!

Look how happy Luffs was!

I refused to take photo with the shower cap on, so I had to hold my hair.

The room also has an attached steam bath. Haha… The steam bath was so hot that I nearly burnt my skin!

It was time for massage after soaking for 45 minutes.

That's us in the bathrodes provided - Waiting for the massage to start.

Our couple’s room for the massage!

The 2 masseurs whom attended to us were pretty good. They were consistent with their strength / strokes etc and will occasionally ask if the pressure was alright. After an hour of massage, Luffs and I had the same conclusion - The masseurs almost broke our bones with their strength but we still enjoyed the feeling of being massaged. :)

The overall experience at Spa Elements was good. Those who are interested can check out their current promotions
here!

SURPRISE #2
Time Checked: 1830 hrs
Venue: ???
For: Dinner

Dinner was at this restaurant which Luffs and I really liked! It was our first time there but we will definitely go back there again. Sorry, we are not revealing the place / restaurant because we do not want it to be popular.

The pretty interiors of the restaurant!

They have an open balcony too.

It was so windy that my hair started flying all over.

Mushrooms!

Pizza!

Note: The photo below is just for laughs! :)

** Rina, it is the first time you are appearing on this blog! **

Luffs was helping me reply Rina about our dinner on Wednesday!

Our dinner date better come true after so many failed attempts.

The main course I chose for Luffs - Pasta!

This was their "catch of the day" - Tuna Collar + Prawns + Scallops!

Cake for the birthday boy!

SURPRISE #3
Time Checked
: 2115 hrs
Venue: Golden Village (Plaza Singapura)
For: Movie

We ended the day with a movie date.

Synopsis
This heartwarming true story is an American adaptation of a Japanese tale about a loyal dog named Hachiko. This very special friend would accompany his master to the train station every day and return each afternoon to greet him after work. Sadly his master departs one day, passes away and never returns to the station. Hachiko faithfully returns to the same spot at the station the very next day, and every day for the next nine years to wait for his beloved master. During his daily visits, Hachiko touches the lives of many who work near and commute through the town square. He teaches the local people love, compassion and above all unyielding loyalty. Today, a bronze statue of Hachiko sits in his waiting spot outside the Shibuya station in Japan as a permanent reminder of his devotion and love.

Hachiko: A Dog's Story is a must watch! I enjoyed the movie even though I am not a dog lover. :) The storyline may be simple, but it is really a good film that touches the heart of the majority. This true story is a great example as to why dogs are known as man's best friend.

Anyway, that marks the end of Luffs’ special literary. It was a fun day filled with happiness for me, I hope Luffs felt the same way too.

HAPPY 26TH LUFFS!

I ♥ you!

Hope you had a memorable birthday, yah?
