Amazing Sand Drawing

Violet Jie showed me this - The lady in the video is a really talented artist!

Amazing Sand Drawing @ Yahoo! Video

Kseniya Simonova is a Ukrainian artist who won Ukraine's version of "America's Got Talent." She uses a giant light box, dramatic music, imagination and "sand painting" skills to interpret Germany's invasion and occupation of Ukraine during WWII.

Thank You, Luffs!

Thank you for taking such good care of me when mum was away!

I ♥ you loads!

It was amazing to have you around.

These 8 days seem to be a picture of how our life will be after we move into our house.

I am sooooooooo looking forward to 2010.

Mum Is Coming Home!

- - - 妈 妈 不 在 家 ( 第 八 天 ) - - -

Luffs and I woke up early to bring Maggie Jie to AMK Polyclinic for her follow-up.

Look at my crazy sister!

She can still smile at the camera even though she is injured and bandaged up?!!

Anyway, I am glad that her injuries are better now but of course it will be good if she can give up riding totally.

I did some ironing in the afternoon while Maggie Jie was taking her nap and Luffs playing the PSP. It has been many years since I last ironed something and I guess I really need to brush up on that. HELP! I need 15 minutes to iron a simple t-shirt! Haha...

I felt like a total housewife today!

Luffs suggested cooking our own dinner, so I became his assistant. I was in charge of chopping up the garlic and cutting the hotdogs and crab sticks while
Luffs cooked the fried rice and fried the fish fillets.

I was the one who prepared the teriyaki chicken but I think I failed. HAHAHA~ Compare the photo on the packaging and my finished product.

My chicken looks chao-tar!!!

We played Monopoly after dinner and Harald emerged as winner!

I'm feeling all excited!

Luffs, Maggie Jie and I will be heading to the airport at about 11.30 pm to pick mum and Uncle up. Their 8-day China trip has come to end and I am happy that they are coming back.

Ciao!

SITEX 2009

- - - 妈 妈 不 在 家 ( 第 七 天 ) - - -

SITEX is back! Luffs and I will always go for such events even though we have nothing in mind that we want to get.

Mahesh, Stanley and his girlfriend joined us this time round! We left Expo at 9 pm and headed to Pasir Ris for a late dinner.

Stanley & Mahesh

Stanley, Mahesh & Luffs

Luffs doesn't drink, he was merely posing with the beer bottle. Haha!

Here's a group photo which the 'zi char' aunty took for us!

Oh ya!

We did not leave SITEX empty-handed because Luffs bought this for me! This universal power pack actually come in different sizes / voltages etc for different devices.

We chose the XP2000 Power Pack because of the portable size and it can help me charge my Blackberry! It can also charge my Nokia N97, PSP, bluetooth etc. This little thing is only 3.3" (L) x 2.3" (W) x 0.5" (H), so it will definitely come in handy when I go on my business trips!

This power pack comes with the different tips for mobile phones of different brands (and a travel bag). The sales lady also gave me a APPLE tip for free. Haha, I took it although I do not own any APPLE products.

What's more! Energizer gives two FREE tips a year for the life of my product after I have registered my purchase. (",)

It has to be charged the first time for a full 8 hours before regular use.

After initial charging, normal charging will only take 3 - 4 hours.

I have not started using this, but hope it is good.

Riding Is Dangerous!

- - - 妈 妈 不 在 家 ( 第 六 天 ) - - -

Maggie Jie and I went to NTUC for some grocery shopping because she wanted to cook dinner for us.

Here's our trolley full of thing!

Anyway, PSLE results were released this afternoon and I had the 'privilege' of collecting my cousin's result because she was away in China.

She did ok I guess - At least she passed and is eligible for the Express course.

Congratulations, Yun Yi!

Now she has to decide her choices of secondary schools when she returns and put in the application before it closes on 02 December (3 pm). The Secondary One posting results will be released on 22 December and the pupils are to report to their secondary schools on 23 December at 8.30 am.

Ok, back to the main point of this blog entry.

Maggie Jie got into an accident AGAIN and this is her second accident this month!

But this time was more serious!

She was given 10 days MC and has to go for a follow-up on Saturday.

Maggie Jie, can you please STOP riding?

Counting Down!

- - - 妈 妈 不 在 家 ( 第 五 天 ) - - -

Today is the 5th day that mum is away.

She calls home everyday without fail to check that we are alright and I am glad to hear that they are doing ok in China too.

Simple Dinner With ♥

- - - 妈 妈 不 在 家 ( 第 四 天 ) - - -

It was a little harder to wake up today and I lazed around in bed even after my alarm rang.

Haha... Nothing much happened today except for the simple dinner that I had with Luffs. Maggie Jie had school so Luffs decided tabao some dishes from Chinatown and cooked porridge for us.

It was a simple dinner but we both enjoyed it!

Thank you, Luffs!

It's Finger Lickin' Good

- - - 妈 妈 不 在 家 ( 第 三 天 ) - - -

I have not been using my alarm clock(s) for the longest of time because mum is always at home to wake me up for work. Haha... Since she is on "vacation leave" these few days, I decided to put my phone alarm into good use.
Surprisingly, I woke up even before my alarm rang and Maggie Jie was so surprised that I woke up earlier than usual.

Nothing much to say other than having monday blues and not wanting to go to work. However, I was pretty excited about the hotel site visit that Luffs and I were supposed to go to. A
nyway, the site visit was scheduled at 7 pm but we were there early. so we sat at the lobby sofa, trying to entertain each other - We talked and laughed at each other's lame jokes etc.

We were all hungry after the whole thing was over. We called for delivery while driving home and our food did not take very long to reach us.

So this is what we had - KFC Bargain Deal!

Bargain Deal
Chicken X 6
Medium Whipped Potato X 2
Medium Coleslaw X 1

I HATE whipped potato and was disappointed that KFC does not allow exchange of whipped potato to fries anymore! Anyway, we
did not finish all the food because this meal was meant for 6 people.

Of Monopoly & Pizza

- - - 妈 妈 不 在 家 ( 第 二 天 ) ---

Mum is away for 2 days already and I pray that everything is fine over there! Anyway, Luffs has been very sweet too. He volunteered to stay over at my place during this time to keep my company.

We did not have much to do, so we decided to stay at home while Maggie Jie went in school. Haha! And we played Monopoly again and
I finally beat Luffs after more than 2 hours of battle!

Below is a photo of Luffs pretending to 'emo' after losing to me.

Dinner was settled at Spizza with Harald and Maggie Jie because Luffs had cravings for pizza.

Spizza (Jalan Kayu)
269 Jalan Kayu
Singapore 799497
Tel: 6481 2453

We were the only diners in the shop at that time!

They make the pizza(s) right in front of you~

Haha...

How can we not take photos right?

Here's what we ordered.

Juliana
Tomato, Mozzarella, Cooked Ham, Pineapple

Xandra
Tomato, Mozzarella, Ground Beef, Red Onions, Pineapple, Capsicum

I ♥ pizza(s) with thin crust!

Mozzarella Sticks
Served with Pesto Mayonnaise

Lasagna
Traditional Beef Lasagna

The cheese container was filled to the brim when it was brought to you.

So guess who was the culprit who ate so much cheese?!!!

Anyway, the food was yummi and I will definitely go back for me!

We then made our way to Dessert Bowl for dessert!

Dessert Bowl
80A Serangoon Gardens Way
Tel: 6285 1278

I ♥ the Christmas decorations!

We ordered 4 different types of dessert.

That's Harald with his ai yu mango!

Not sure why this place is so popular, but I felt that both the strawberry ice and mango ice tasted very weird because the ice was blended with brown sugar! Also, Maggie Jie commented that the durian mousse was so-so only.

Hahaha! Maybe we merely ordered the wrong stuff.

Paranormal Activity

- - - 妈 妈 不 在 家 ( 第 一 天 ) - - -

This is what my mum prepared for us before she left for her trip!

She is so sweet, isn't she?

Drinks + Fruits

Fish Fillets + Crabsticks + Hotdogs

Anyway, Luffs and I just got home after watching Paranormal Activity - Maggie Jie joined us too because Harald did not want to watch it with her! Everyone has been telling me how freaky it is, so I decided to give it a go after mustering all my courage.

The beginning of the show was kind of boring but the exciting / scary parts came later in the show. There were no gory scenes or sudden movements to shock us. The sound effects were very minimal too, but it was the silence and stillness that makes us imagine so much.

Synopsis
After a young, middle class couple moves into what seems like a typical suburban “starter” tract house, they become increasingly disturbed by a presence that may or may not be demonic but is certainly most active in the middle of the night. Especially when they sleep. Or try to.

@ 2:00 AM
九寨沟 & 峨嵋山

Mum and Uncle, together with a few of my relatives, will be flying to 成都 in about 30 minutes' time. The weather in China now is freaking cold but I really hope they will enjoy themselves. Afterall, 九寨沟 has always been a place that Uncle wanted to go. This trip includes 峨嵋山 as well, so pray that the Lord will watch over them!

Enjoy and take care, yah?

See you all in 8 days' time!

This Is Beautiful!

This beautiful story seems long, but it is definitely worth reading.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

" When you're down to nothing, God is up to something. "

She jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She said: "How is my little boy? Is he going to be all right? When can I see him?"

The surgeon said, "I'm sorry. We did all we could, but your boy didn't make it."

Sally said, "Why do little children get cancer? Doesn't God care anymore? Where were you, God, when my son needed you?"

The surgeon asked, "Would you like some time alone with your son? One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he's transported to the university."

Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good-bye to son. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair.

"Would you like a lock of his hair?" the nurse asked.

Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the boy's hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally. The mother said, "It was Jimmy's idea to donate his body to the University for Study. He said it might help somebody else. "I said no at first, but Jimmy said, 'Mom, I won't be using it after I die. Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom." She went on, "My Jimmy had a heart of gold. Always thinking of someone else. Always wanting to help others if he could."

Sally walked out of Children's Mercy Hospital for the last time, after spending most of the last six months there. She put the bag with Jimmy's belongings on the seat beside her in the car. The drive home was difficult. It was even harder to enter the empty house. She carried Jimmy's belongings, and the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her son's room. She started placing the model cars and other personal things back in his room exactly where he had always kept them. She laid down across his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried herself to sleep.

It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Laying beside her on the bed was a folded letter. The letter said:

"Dear Mom, I know you're going to miss me; but don't think that I will ever forget you, or stop loving you, just 'cause I'm not around to say I LOVE YOU. I will always love you, Mom, even more with each day. Someday we will see each other again.

Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you won't be so lonely, that's okay with me. He can have my room and old stuff to play with. But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn't like the same things us boys do. You'll have to buy her dolls and stuff girls like, you know.

Don't be sad thinking about me. This really is a neat place. Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some, but it will take a long time to see everything. The angels are so cool. I love to watch them fly.

And, you know what? Jesus doesn't look like any of his pictures. Yet, when I saw Him, I knew it was Him. Jesus himself took me to see GOD! And guess what, Mom? I got to sit on God's knee and talk to Him, like I was somebody important. That's when I told Him that I wanted to write you a letter, to tell you good-bye and everything. But I already knew that wasn't allowed. Well, you know what Mom? God handed me some paper and His own personal pen to write you this letter. I think Gabriel is the name of the angel who is going to drop this letter off to you. God said for me to give you the answer to one of the questions you asked Him 'Where was He when I needed him?' "God said He was in the same place with me, as when His son Jesus was on the cross. He was right there, as He always is with all His children.

Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what I've written except you. To everyone else this is just a blank piece of paper. Isn't that cool? I have to give God His pen back now. He needs it to write some more names in the Book of Life. Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper. I'm sure the food will be great.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I don't hurt anymore. The cancer is all gone. I'm glad because I couldn't stand that pain anymore and God couldn't stand to see me hurt so much, either. That's when He sent The Angel of Mercy to come get me. The Angel said I was a Special Delivery! How about that?

Signed with Love from God, Jesus & Me.

Jade @ The Fullerton Hotel

We had our long-awaited dim sum buffet at Jade @ The Fullerton Hotel this afternoon.

Jade
1 Fullerton Square
Singapore 049178
Tel: 6877 8188

The dim sum buffet is only available on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays for two seatings (1) 11.30am - 1.15pm or (2) 1.45pm - 3.30pm at $28++ per person.

The food was yummilicious and I felt that it was money well spent. We had 52 varieties of dim sum and delectable dishes to choose from!

I think their buffet price will be adjusted soon, so try it while the price is still $28++. The restaurant is normally fully booked, so remember to call them or email them at
jade@fullertonhotel.com
to make reservations.

Interiors of Jade

Very nicely / neatly done up menu!

Food photos ahead!

Make sure you don't drool even though the photos were not very nicely taken.

Soup

The spinach soup was yummi - It tasted abit like shark's fin soup!

Dim Sum

I ♥ the abalone siew mai and shark fin scallop dumplings!

Fried Items

The little cute things on the top right photo are gold cheese dumplings!

Others

Wasabi prawns is nice although I don't like wasabi.

The honey gazed sea bass is ♥ too!

We (9 adults and 2 children) ate alot, yah?

But it was definitely money well spent.

The only bad point is the desserts were not included in the buffet price, so you need to pay separately.

Anyway, will end of with a photo of Luffs and Lingz!

Did anyone notice that I had a new hair cut (or rather trim)?

Haha!

2012

2012 is a must watch!

It is a 2.5 hours show but I did not fall asleep.

* clap hands for myself *

Morgan Lily who acted as Lilly Curtis looks so sweet - She reminds me of Maggie Jie because she likes to collect / wear hats too.

Warning!

The below synopsis is taken from
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1190080/ and it contains spoilers. Haha!

Synopsis

The film begins in year 2009, when there is a huge explosion on the surface of the sun. We then see Adrian Helmsley (Chiwetel Ejiofor), an American scientist, traveling to a copper mine in India to meet his friend, who discovered that Earth's temperature is increasing rapidly. He returns to Washington D.C. and submits a report to his supervisor, who immediately takes him to the president. In 2010, we see the President of the United States tell other heads of state the situation (the world is ending) and we also see billionaires all over the world buying plane tickets for untold sums of money. In 2011 the original of The Mona Lisa in the Louvre is replaced with a decoy, and is sealed away for unknown reasons.

The story jumps ahead to 2012. Jackson Curtis (John Cusack), a divorced father who works as a limousine driver and writer, and his ex-wife, Kate Curtis (Amanda Peet), and children, Noah (Liam James) and Lily (Morgan Lily), who live with Kate's new boyfriend, Gordon (Thomas McCarthy). Jackson takes his children on a camping trip to Yellowstone, where he meets Charlie Frost, who hosts a radio segment that addresses the Mayans' prediction. Charlie mentions a map of where special ships are, but Jackson assumes he is a rambling drunk and leaves him. Kate and Gordon and in a super market buying groceries when the floor begins to crack and the supermarket is split in half. Jackson gets a call that he has to return from camping with the kids. Jackson arrives at the house and drops the kids off, and takes his limo to a job. He goes to the house of Russian billionaire Yuri Karpov. Jackson takes Yuri, his children and his girlfriend to the airport. The children make cruel comments to Jackson, and as they board the plane, they mention they have tickets to board the ships and Jackson doesn't. This leads Jackson to believe Charlie's story, and he rents a plane. Jackson hurries to Kate's house and picks up her, the kids, and Gordon as the house collapses and a massive earthquake begins. They drive through L.A while it is being destroyed and arrive just in time at the airport.

When they get to Santa Monica Airport, the pilot that Jackson hires is killed by a falling structure. Kate mentions that Gordon knows how to fly (Gordon protest's, he has only had a few lessons) so they tell him to fly the plane out of L.A. From the sky, we see L.A sinking into the Pacific Ocean. Jackson announces they have to get to Yellowstone to get the map from Charlie. They fly there and Jackson goes looking for Charlie. He finds his R.V and takes it out looking for Charlie, and he finds him at the top of a hill waiting for the impact. Charlie tells Jackson where the map is and he rushes back to the R.V as a massive explosion goes off, hurtling rocks in every direction. Jackson gets to the plane and they take off for China.

The group lands in Las Vegas and they meet Yuri. Yuri's plane is damaged, but he and Sasha, Yuri's pilot, find a cargo plane that carries automobiles. Las Vegas is destroyed by earthquakes and ravaged by the impeding volcanic ash cloud of Yellowstone. Yuri has 2 children and his girlfriend with him.

While in the air, the group learns that the plane does not have enough fuel to reach China: they've passed Honolulu, Hawaii, which has been inundated in lava. As they're about to ditch the plane they discover that they are no longer above the ocean: the Earth's crust has shifted thousands of miles and they are heading towards the Himalayas. During a crash landing on a glacier they manage to escape from the plane safely by using one of the luxury vehicles in cargo as a raft. The group ditches the car and a helicopter lands, they ask for tickets and Yuri shows his three tickets. He goes on the helicopters with his 2 children and leaves his girlfriend and the group behind.

The group eventually finds their way to the ships with the help of some locals and is smuggled aboard with the help of a Buddhist monk and a construction worker. Gordon dies as they board. Tsunamis begin to engulf the Indian peninsula, and a giant wave eventually reaches the ships, which turn out to be arks constructed to save the heads of state, hand-picked individuals chosen to repopulate the earth and the rich elite, who could afford to buy tickets. A massive flood is heading towards the ship, and due to a wire left by Jackson in the ships gate, the gate isnt able to close, and the engines arent able to start. Jackson manages to get the gates closed just in time, and the ships cruise off. A title appears that says Day 27 Month 01 Year 01. The group is living on the ark, and Jackson and Kate seem to have gotten back together. The captain of the ship learns that Africa was able to miss catastrophe and is safe to venture too. The ship heads for Africa, and a view from space shows all continents have moved together and are in the shape of Africa.
