Day Trip to KL

I went to Kuala Lumpur for a day trip today!

SIA never fail to make me feel welcome although it was only a 55 minutes flight. However the flight back on Malaysia Airlines was not very pleasant.

Anyway, I had the chance of going up the PETRONAS Twin Towers because the meeting was held there.

The PETRONAS Twin Towers were the world's tallest buildings before being surpassed by Taipei 101. However, the towers are still the tallest twin buildings in the world.

This is the view from the 42nd storey!

The meeting ended by 1pm and we went for dim sum lunch at Spring Garden before heading to the airport.

Note: Dev, lunch was with our client so I did not take photos of the food. Haha!

★ My 25th Birthday ★

I had a wonderful birthday celebration with my family although it was not something very elaborate. And most importantly, I received the BEST present ever. Anyway, I will talk more about it at the end of this post.

Dinner was at Orchard Cafe!

Unfortunately I did not manage to take the whole buffet spread.

Everyone wants a photo with Chef Ming.

By the way, he is my cousin!

Sisters camwhoring together!

How can we forget the birthday girl?

Luffs bought my birthday dress and jacket for me!

And also, the cake was a surprise arranged by my cousin.

* Thank you, Luffs and Ah Ming Kor! *

Happy family photos!

Below are the gifts I received.

The two bouquets of flowers were delivered to my office.

[1] Flowers + Burberry Brit (30ml) : From parents-in-law and Kenny Boy

[2] Flowers + Sheep + Merci Chocolate : From Juu and Maggie Jie

[3] Capitaland Vouchers + Card : From colleagues

[4] Hong Baos : From parents and father-in-law

[5] Kate Spade Classic Noel Zippered Chrissy Wristlet : From Harald and Maggie Jie

[6] Taka Jewellery Pendant : From Chris Kor and Violet Jie

And last but not least, my BEST birthday present!

Luffs and I bought our house!

We went to view the house on 17 October.

The sellers agreed to our offer on 20 October.

We exercised the option to purchase on 24 October.

HOORAY! What a timely gift right?

That's not all!

Luffs gave me this interior design book!

This is how the pages inside look like!

I had a good time looking at the designs inside and we really have to start thinking what kind of theme / concept we want to have for our future house.

And this marks the end of my 25th birthday!

* I have lived a quarter
of a century *

Look who got older!

I cannot believe how fast time has been going by ever since I turned 21 and I have been around for ¼ of a century (as of 0353 hours)!

It is interesting to look back and reflect on what has happened the last 25 years. I will not summarize my life here but I am just thankful to the Lord for seeing me through all these years even though I have failed Him on many occasions.

Psalm 118:29 "Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever."

Anyway, I have some old photos to share below! Look how much Maggie Jie and I have grown, yah? Hehe... Hope she won't kill me after seeing these photos.

Okie dokie, that's all for now and I will update more about my birthday tonight.

Food Crisis!

The food crisis has moved from lunch and dinner to breakfast.

Tea, cocoa, sugar and coffee prices have hit multi-decade highs over the last few weeks, while the cost of orange juice has also risen sharply. Among “breakfast” commodities, only milk prices remain low.

Essential Damage Care

The TV commercial for the new Essential Damage Care products caught my eyes - The models are pretty and the bottles look so attractive with the shimmers all over them!

http://web.kao.com/sg/essential/

I decided to buy the big bottles of shampoo and conditioner from the nuance airy series to try! They are supposed to give me a light and bouncy feel.

Wanting to try the rich premier series (for smooth and manageable hair) as well, I went to Watsons last week to buy the small bottles at a promotional price of S$3.95 each.

I started using the pink ones - Maybe it was my 心理作用 because I have only used it for the first time but seemed like the last 15 cm of my hair is really moisturized.

I dropped Rina a SMS!

: Lingz :
Sorry for being totally random, but I have to tell you this - The Essential shampoo damn nice smell lah! So strawberry, so fruity lor! I soooooo want to eat my hair now although I just ate my porridge dinner. Haha!

: Rina :
Haha, you damn funny la. I went Chinatown to buy the big bottle $7.60 - Next time you can go there stock up. Hehe…

: Lingz :
What so funny about me? Anyway, I seldom go Chinatown de but $7.60 is cheap lah! Maybe must send Kelvin there since his office so near Chinatown.

Cure Natural Aqua Gel

HOORAY!

Boss decided to declare half day today since it is Deepavali tomorrow.

I left office at 2.30pm after clearing my work and headed to Bishan to meet mum. I wanted to go on a Watsons 'spree' because I am a Watsons member and I get to earn 5X points in my birthday month.

Total damage amounted to S$67.45 with Cure Natural Aqua Gel being the most expensive purchase. I bought this due to the rave reviews by Singaporean ladies (including Maggie Jie).

Cure Natural Aqua Gel, a product of Japan, is a exfoliating gel that helps remove dead skin. This product is similar to Ginvera Marvel Gel, but it is made of 90% water.

Only 4 simple steps!

[1] Wash your face with cleanser and dry well.

[2] Pump a small amount of Cure to be applied on the desired area. Leave it on the skin for a few seconds for Cure to react with thedead skin cells.

[3] Gently massage in a circular motion for 30 seconds to 1 minute. The gel turns into milky liquid and white particles of dead skin cells can be seen as they are lifted off the skin.

[4] Rinse well with water. Your skin feels smoother and is ready for moisturising.

Tried it just now and my skin really felt smooth and squeaky clean after I rinsed it off.

I believe people with sensitive skin and those who are allergic to fragrances will love this because it is unscented and very gentle on the skin! So head down to Watsons to get your first bottle at $38 or get a free sample by filling up your details on their website.

Singapore's M1 To Offer iPhone

M1 To Sell iPhone In Singapore Later This Year

By Sia Ling Xin

HOME-GROWN telecommunications company MobileOne (M1) has secured the rights to sell the popular iPhone here later this year.

Information on when the company would launch the phone and the price it would be sold at would be released only later, M1 said in a statement yesterday.

It would say only: "M1 looks forward to offering the iPhone and a range of tailored service plans to customers in Singapore."

It is the second telco here to ink an agreement with United States computing giant Apple to sell its sleek 3G-network iPhones.

Rival SingTel was the first telco here to do so in August last year, and had been the sole distributor until M1 muscled in.

It offers the iPhone from $0 to $678, depending on the mobile plan and model chosen.

So far, SingTel has sold "tens of thousands" of iPhones, its spokesman said in a statement.

The spokesman added that its price plans will be reviewed regularly "to ensure that they offer the best value to our customers and remain competitive in the market".

The third telco here, StarHub, declined to confirm if it would be bringing in iPhones.

It would say only that it is "interested to bring the iPhone to StarHub customers".

Student Adeline Ng, 23, who has been eyeing the latest iPhone since her father bought one two months ago, said that M1's announcement is "great news".

With the ending of the monopoly, she hopes that "prices will drop so the phone will be more affordable".

The SingTel subscriber had hesitated over buying it earlier because she found the prices too steep, but may switch to M1 if its prices are attractive.

Love Beyond Measure

Congratulations, Mr and Mrs Low Theng Khuan!

Luffs and I had the privilege of attending their wedding lunch held at The St. Regis Singapore.

Note: No photos taken because I forgot my camera.

I ♥ the pillarless ballroom! The food was ok but the service wasn’t really up to standard. For the whole lunch, I only drank 1 glass of orange. The waitress did not even bother filling up my glass!

Anyway, Luffs and I sat with Emily and her family. I ♥ Joan (Emily’s 9-month-old daughter) to the max, but she preferred to be carried by Luffs.

The couple has chosen a very pretty and meaningful wedding favour - Measuring spoons!

Photo taken from http://www.beau-coup.com/Pictures/heart_measuring_spoons/heart_meas_spoons.jpg

Each spoon features "measures of love" on one side with traditional measurements on the other.

"A Pinch of Patience" = 1/4 teaspoon

"A Dash of Kindness” = 1/2 teaspoon

"A Spoonful of Laughter" = 1 teaspoon

"A Heap of Love" = 1 tablespoon

Meatballs!

Are we in a cartoon craze or something?

The last 2 movies that Luffs and I watched together were cartoon and we have just returned from AMK Hub after catching Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs!

This movie was inspired by a children's book of the same time. It follows inventor Flint Lockwood and brainy weathergirl Sam Sparks as they attempt to discover why the rain in their small town has stopped while food is falling in its place. Lifelong bully Brent relishes in tormenting Flint just as he did when they were kids, and Mayor Shelbourne schemes to use Flint's latest invention -- A device designed to improve everyone's lives -- For his own personal gain.

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs portrays a cute adventure which seems silly and funny. It is a movie that is perfectly appropriate for kids of all ages but the younger ones must understand that what they see will never happen in real life. But still, the movie is wonderfully weird at times with giant pancakes and gummy bears ‘flying’ around the screen.

Now, some background of the book!

T
his popular children's book was written by Judi Barrett and illustrated by Ron Barrett. It was first published in 1978 by the Simon & Schuster imprint Atheneum Books, followed by a 1982 trade paperback edition from sister company Aladdin Paperbacks. The sequel to Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs entitled Pickles to Pittsburgh was published in 2000 by Atheneum Books followed by a hardcover edition in 2009.
